Native H.A.B.I.T., a tobacco resistance initiative spearheaded by `Imi Hale Native Hawaiian Cancer Network, a program of Papa Ola Lōkahi, and the Native Hawaiian Health Care Systems.
Mission: To advocate for social justice using Dr. Kekuni Blaisdell’s anti-oppression framework that It’s Anti-Hawaiian to Smoke, based on the fact that smoking is NOT a Hawaiian Tradition.
Vision: A Smoke Free Pacific.
Partners: `Imi Hale, Native Hawaiian Health Care Systems – Ho`ola Lahui Hawai`i (Kaua`i/Ni`ihau), Ke Ola Mamo (O`ahu), Na Pu`uwai (Moloka`i/Lana`i), Hui No Ke Ola Pono (Maui), Hui Malama Ola Na `Oiwi (Hawai`i), Department of Health Tobacco Prevention & Education Program, Coalition for a Tobacco-Free Hawai`i, with support from community-based Hawaiian organizations, community health centers, Na Liko Noelo researchers, the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs and `Ahahui O Na Kauka (Association of Native Hawaiian Physicians).
`Imi Hale, established in 2000, is committed to indigenous leadership and community-capacity building that is responsive to Native Hawaiian communities. `Imi Hale accomplishments in tobacco prevention and control include:
- Institutionalizing a comprehensive tobacco cessation protocol in an indigenous health setting

- Developing culturally tailored education materials and resources
- Training more than 100 community health workers in Hawai`i, American Samoa, and the U.S. continent to provide tobacco cessation intervention
- Conducting more than 20 capacity building trainings with partnering organizations in Hawai`i, American Samoa and the U.S. continent on Basic Tobacco (Cessation) Intervention Skills, Intensive Intervention, Tobacco Dependence Treatment, Motivational Interviewing & Counseling, Health Literacy, and Leadership
- Advocating at the local, state, national, and international level on tobacco issues impacting Native Hawaiians
